Yes, AutoCAD will run on a Chromebook. It just might not be the ideal platform for that software.
Chromebooks are designed to be lightweight and efficient laptops that use Chrome OS as their primary operating system. AutoCAD is a very processor-intensive application, so it might not run as smoothly on a Chromebook as it would on a more traditional laptop or desktop PC. However, with some tweaking and modifications, it is possible to get AutoCAD up and running on a Chromebook.

There are a few ways to run AutoCAD on a Chromebook. You can use a virtual machine such as VMware or Parallels, or you can install Crouton which will give you a Linux environment in which to run AutoCAD. However, I don't recommend either of these options because they both have some limitations.
The best way to run AutoCAD on a Chromebook is to use the Citrix Receiver app. This will allow you to connect to your company's Citrix server and run AutoCAD in a remote session. The only downside is that you need an internet connection with decent speeds for this to work well.

It might. autocad is a windows application and Chromebooks support running windows applications through something called "Chrome OS virtual machines" (https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/1080948). However, you may need to have an external hard drive in order to save the files that you create with autocad.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the performance of autocad on a chromebook will vary depending on the specific model and configuration of chromebook. However, it is generally recommended that more powerful laptops or desktops be used for running autocad software, as they are likely to have better performance and graphics capabilities.
