This is a difficult question to answer, but I'll do my best. There are many important considerations that go into being a landscape designer and it can be very rewarding and satisfying if you enjoy your work or don't mind working hard. One needs to possess an eye for what works in the way of color, contrast, textures, scale and layout of plants. Or one could become an interior designer instead if they like living with lots of good stuff around them as well as having less sun exposure during the day.

Yes, becoming a landscape designer. Although interior design and architecture are similar in many ways, the career path for interior designers is different than that of landscape architects.
Landscape architects plan out gardens and other outdoor spaces while interior designers work on home décor and renovations. Landscape architects are more likely to be hired by architecture firms in order to draw blueprints for their designs. This field is also often pursued by people who have an interest in urban planning because it combines methods with both the natural world as well as construction or engineering knowledge of how to make these structures stand up over time with minimal care required.

Yes, if you have the necessary skills and background. Interior design is a fast-growing profession that's in increasing demand nationwide. Workers with strong professional or extensively practiced experience in interior design are eligible to take certification exams through American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). ASID Site ID credential programs consist of 2 parts - a basic understanding exam and an extensive practical skills exam. This examination process allows candidates to secure credentials and licensure as well as demonstrate their expertise.

You might be better off becoming a landscape designer if you have an interest in that specific type of work. Interior design is equally good and probably gives more variety, depending on where you want to live. I would endorse the former only if you like landscaping and have experience already with it, for example volunteering at a park or something.

Landscape design is a very in-demand profession, and you will always be able to find work. There are tons of different projects, clients, and commission types for landscape designers. The environment is also something that many people love to organize around. Cons: Being a landscaper can take up an immense amount of time--it's not like designing houses where you might work at your own pace while sitting in the comfort of your office for 8 hours. Your average day might involve 12 hours on site (possibly on weekends). The next disadvantage has less to do with being a landscaper per se than what most professions nowadays have to contend with--the occasional downsizing due to economic cycles or bad management decisions.
