The color choice
Being a minimalist movement, the predominant colors are neutral. Part of a palette in scale, where the largest elements, such as walls and windows, are supported by white and the rest of the elements will decrease towards shades wrapped between gray and brown. Earth tones, wood, gray and white are perfect options for a japandi kitchen.

These colors are the angular axis to achieve a successful Japandi style since they will be the base of it. Also pale and neutral colors will combine perfectly. More than just including white, neutral and not so flashy colors are spectacular for this style. Muted shades of brown and beige will definitely be a successful choice in this style. Using gray and black colors are also suitable as long as they are not the main colors of the chosen style. The japandí style is built from stained or light colored woods as well. You should create a mix of dark tones and light woods, the combinations should be monochromatic, although you can also add some vibrant touches with a natural touch.

A touch of green to this style
Indoor plants are often used in the new style to bring warmth and balance energies. However, due to the strong influences of Zen, quality prevails, not quantity. This means that you should not have millions of plants inside our home. But the strategies that you like the most and that give you joy will make your home timeless and without a doubt much warmer.

Materials and textures
The essential position for the creation of a Japandi style interior is found in the use of natural materials, such as bamboo, ceramics, wicker, linen, cotton, cork, stone, rattan, rice paper. and light woods. All the decoration must follow the line and use raw materials and elements that respect nature. In relation to the fabrics, they should be plain and neutral with this combination you will definitely succeed in your kitchen and your home and you will modernize it quickly.

Color brush strokes
To bring vitality and small touches of light to the space, play with contrast. Japandi makes use of ceramics and plants and small details of color in elements such as lamps, handles or rugs.

Natural finish furniture
In our Kitchen Interior Design course we understand that the spirit of the Japanese wabi sabi aesthetic inspires the japandi style. According to this philosophy, nothing is perfect, but rather the opposite, which is why nature is a source of inspiration. For the kitchen furniture, opt for wood and stone finishes, always soft tones. Contrasts of textures can be provided thanks to the use of natural fibers, whether they are integrated as rugs or in decoration on the walls.

Incorporates craft elements
To complement the functional design with warmth, it opts for the imperfection of the handcrafted elements in accessories, such as wooden or metal chairs. Another aspect that allows you to play to get a japandi kitchen is to integrate glass in the space, which provides feng shui that creates the perfect Japanese atmosphere. Delicate and organic-looking pottery is key to the functionality of the japandi style.

All in order
As we will learn in our Kitchen Interior Design course, in japandi it is essential to create a comfortable, adapted and functional space in any aspect of the house. The basis of this style is based on creating clean and minimalist spaces in which there is no type of visual or material highlight. Transferred to the kitchen, to provide ergonomics and take advantage of the space, it helps to use large-capacity furniture such as pantry columns or cleaning columns that hide the appliances and storage spaces to achieve a visually more organized and clean space.

With large-capacity furniture, a visually tidier and cleaner space is achieved following the japandi style. You can find all these ideas and inspirational tips in our Kitchen Design education, see you all there!
