From small updates to major renovations, an interior designer can help put the final touches on your home. Whether you're decorating for a new baby's room, redesigning your kitchen or creating a whole new living space from scratch, all projects start with one thing-a full consultation with an experienced interior designer. Why are YOU the best person to do this job? I have years of experience in Atlanta marketplaces and have successfully used my expertise to transform many homes into their dream setting! It starts by assessing each client's needs while considering space limitations, design preferences and budgetary parameters. The result will be a plan that is tailored just for them-not cookie cutter solutions that are out of sync with their personality or budget.

Many us are self-employed or work for private firms, while others may work for "big box" stores such as IKEA. The formal education needed to start is a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from a professional school such as SUNY Buffalo State College. Some colleges offer training programs in interior design and recognized certifications can be obtained through Internships with industry professionals and the completion of independent study courses. A really good way to get started is by looking at who sells Interior Design services and see if they offer internships or apprenticeships where you can get hands on experience without going into debt with school loans - which can be huge!

Interior designers are responsible for designing the interior of a building, which includes safety first. When designing an interior, it is important to consult with building codes and disaster preparedness plans well before starting any project. A majority of good design is planned but some comes from inspiration found during the process. It's not enough to simply carry out reconfigurations based on what customers want either-the key is customization that creates meaning. The details are best kept hidden in open kitchen cupboards or furniture built into walls-it's not about things but spaces, everything must be sustainable too! That means using low impact materials wherever possible and salvaging where you can. We should strive for simplicity through moderation-less decoration more color!

An interior designer has an eye for detail, creativity and design awareness, which are all skills applied to different assignments. There are five major categories of interior design; residential, commercial or retail, healthcare or medical office space, aviation industry (passenger planes), and hospitality industry (hotels). The type of assignment will dictate the types of ideas considered during the project. Think about architecture principles such as scale and proportionality when designing spaces with multiple functions-living room/dining room combo or a kitchen that opens up into a dining area. Check out this post from Houzz on how gas stations can be converted to upscale restaurants by adding marble floors and wood panel walls.

Interior design is the process of designing the aesthetics, space, practicality and functionality of any building -interior design for private homes may cover everything from color schemes to pricing while interior design for commercial spaces would include signage, lease binding agreements and deciding which fixtures should be used in specific areas. The designer will look at how light falls on a room or area so they can consider combinations of furniture that fall within the orientation towards these aspects. They must also look at what's required for inhabitants with different needs such as pushing elevators buttons, disabled access points etc.
