Interior design is a challenging profession that takes a lot of knowledge, creativity, and patience. But the feeling you get when someone loves your design work is unlike anything else in this world. The main challenge for interior designers is that they need to understand how everything works together inside an environment whether it be architecture, engineering, or lighting, as well as understanding their client's needs.

It can be difficult to become an interior designer. The first step is many people do not realize, is that the interior design industry has very few entry-level positions available and there are a lot of places you must apply to when applying for these positions because they are so scarce.
The second step is even after landing your first position in interior design, it’s common for someone in this field to put in up to 60 hours per week of work.
Ultimately, being an interior designer requires a personal commitment from yourself as well as determination and extensive experience.

Many people find that the industry is challenging because the salaries are often lower than expected, and it's easy to experience unrealistic competition. That being said, there are plenty of organizations who try to promote better equality in wage for men and women in this field.
We think it's important for everyone to know that they have just as much potential as anyone else in this line of work. The interior design profession has made major improvements over the last few decades, such as instituting workplace diversity programs and requirements for more equity within companies' wages—so if you're able to find a company with those values then you'll be doing better than most who came before you.

Becoming an interior designer just takes a lot of hard work, patience, and persistence. A design degree is very helpful in getting you started. But when we talk to would-be designers with no professional experience on their resumes, the most common reply is that they have an insatiable desire for each home they enter to look like their favorite magazine spread—as if some magic fairy has waved her hand over it and transformed it into something spectacularly beautiful.
