SketchUp cannot be downloaded on a chromebook. We're sorry, there are no easy workarounds for this issue :(. SketchUp can be used on many devices, but not chromebooks. If you have the Chrome browser installed on your laptop or desktop, it will work in your web browser online. Otherwise SketchUp will install to any Windows or Mac operating system device that has is supported by native runtime capability for either .exe (.x) files (.dmg) files with Universal Single File executable installer for all platforms (.exe).

Sketchup is compatible with chromebook. I personally use sketchup for my own architecture and I use a Chromebook as both my sketching tool and as the program to view the project. Sketchup can be downloaded through google's webstore and since you're using a chrome device, it would only make sense that sketchup would also work on that device. I had some difficulties initially with drawing on higher zoom levels but overall it works very well!

Sketchup might not work too well on a chromebook. I should mention that I'm not an IT person and don't specialize in the web, so my statement is only based on what I've heard and read around the internet. One example is The Verge article about WebGL incompatibility, which reports "Samsung's Chromebook has been curiously compatible with WebGL." It would seem there could be differences so it's best to get more information before you decide if your chromebook can run sketchup. Although many people say it won't (because of java) that doesn't mean it will work for you; lots of people think things won't work but they do anyway. Good luck!

Sketchup will not work on chromebooks for the same reason that chat appears as 'plain text' and not as a 'chat message'. When Chrome OS was first introduced, it had trouble recognizing many of the features typical of 3D modeling. It is possible to download sketchup and put it on a type of device called a chromebook but you have to do some research on how to do so- they are fairly pricey devices. Pretty much all my free time has been dedicated to doing my homework since I started at boarding school two weeks ago. This means I haven't had any time for video games or my favorite TV shows, they're just too hard now with all those pesky exams coming up.

Assuming Sketchup is available for download on Chromebook, yes, but it's an open question whether this will slow the system down. As of yet there are no restrictions on Google Chrome OS to restrict photo processing or other media support. This question concerns whether the SketchUp application will run on a Chromebook without severely degrading performance since you are taking up more RAM with the graphics-heavy program. As of now, most reports indicate that running programs like SketchUp alongside your web browser won't noticeably harm your computer's performance. So in theory, yes - if you're patient enough to learn how to use something new outside of Windows or Mac OSX setup guides!

Answer: Yes, sketchup does work on Chrome OS.

SketchUp for Chrome works offline and permits you to project 12 custom views from inside the model. This is a standalone install of SketchUp 2013 running on Google's Chrome operating system. The app, which can be installed from the Chrome Web Store, requires at least 2 GB of diskspace and 1 GB of RAM. It has been optimized for multi-core systems with an OpenGL 3D renderer. There are no restrictions to how often this app can be installed because it is a non-persistent application," meaning users will not need to use an installer."
