Sketchup is currently supported on the following platforms:. Appler Macr or Linuxr-based computers with a 2.8GHz Intelr Core2 Duor processor and 1GB of RAM-majority of all macs will need to be running sketchup 2015 for this to work. Sketchup Make, the new free version of Sketchup, is now macOS-compatible. This means you can create 3D models on your iPad Pro or MacBook Pro that are fully compatible with the core features of SketchUp Constructor. Our latest release also supports Windows 10 and Office 365, as well as many others including SaaS solutions like Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure Active Directory integration too.

This might be a little controversial, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that it doesn't matter what type of computer you use. Sketchup will work on either platform. You could argue that Macintosh has better support for these types of programs (like SketchUp) because they've built them into the system. That's why software like Final Cut Pro 7 can only run on Macs or you can't play your Xbox 360 or Free Agent X-Fi? game system if you don't have the right video card installed for your PC. But, without getting too technical about it.. chances are good that sketch up will work, no matter what machine type you're using. I hope this helps!

Will sketchup work on a mac? The answer is YES. Several people have reported to me personally that they run SketchUp on a Mac with no problems, and also have compiled it themselves from the source code freely available.   However, if you are going to be dealing intensively with geometry after insertion (especially list triangulation), then there might be performance issues depending on your insert-mode settings and by extension your model size. There will also be crashes occasionally when running scripts, especially old ones that haven't been thoroughly tested against newer releases of Mac OSX or Apple's latest releases of SketchUp (bundling it may sound like a good idea at first).

Sketchup is one of the few design tools that runs natively on both Mac and Windows machines. Also, SketchUp is available for both PC and Mac operating systems to run simultaneously using Bootcamp Mode, which will provide you with all the performance benefits of a dedicated Windows machine. It's true that the cost structures are different between PCs and Macs-even more so now since Apple has discontinued to make new mobile versions of it's computers. There are many factors in deciding to switch over from PC or stick with what you have, but rest assured that either decision can be made confidently knowing SketchUp does function fully on each side equally well.

Yes, it will. It's important to note that SketchUp does not need to be installed on the computer in order for it to work. This means that all you need is a copy of SketchUp (which can be downloaded), and one of the free viewer applications for your operating system. Now let's get started! After installing/downloading Sketchup, find the downloader application by opening your browser and searching for "sketchup downloader" or click here They are different links so click carefully! They should offer both Windows users and Mac users an option. After clicking one of these links, there are two options available when prompted - Install Downloaded Version or Play Single Version..

In this blog post from 2013, the SketchUp team explains how to get started with a Mac. In email correspondence with the SketchUp team, they confirmed that "SketchUp works on both Intel and PowerPC-based Macintosh computers.". The bottom line is that you have a forward-looking company in Apple because not only do they have an active community of designers themselves but it appears their current products are sufficient enough for users of other 3D software who would like to use a Macbook too. One other thing I want to mention is that because Sketchups been around for 15 years it's been proven compatible with older operating systems such as Tiger.
