Sketchup is a 3D CAD modeling software that you can download for free from their website. In order to find North, start off by looking at the globe of the Earth in the sketchup program. You'll notice there are lines running through it vertically and horizontally. The invisible line that runs from top to bottom is called the Axis of Rotation and its where West meets East, which also happens to be where South meets North as well. It's not actually on your screen though so it's going to be a little hard to see what I'm saying right now - sorry!

North is the direction of decreasing sunlight in the Northern hemisphere, and is the geographic area where most people live. Which can be confusing when looking at a world map with south on top, but sun rises in East and sets in West so that's why you would think it's supposed to be north on top. If you want to find an object due north, look for your latitude lines (red) across from it (green). Pointing straight up will help me show this well. It will say things like "North 40°15".

Sketchup is a 3D modeler that shows you what your house, home remodeling project, or landscape design will look like from all angles. Using the North arrow to help align features in SketchUp Windows is one of the most effective ways to create an accurate view looking down from above. To make it easy for you to find out which way north is here are two methods:. 1) Go to Google Earth and look at a satellite image of the area where your object resides. If the sun sets near the time that you're going into Google Earth then south should be just beneath or behind your avatar's head.

Sketchup is a 3D modeler that uses intelligent tools to. convert any 2D drawing into a virtual reality. Sketchup provides access to the same set of professional-quality tools used by architects, engineers, and construction designers. The answer would also include more information about how it relates to architecture and drawing in general, with a focus on its free models of houses which one could download from the site for all sorts of new designs. Specifically use the function of Mirroring Objects or making copies that can be then rotated or manipulated. This function allows sketchups users to build at an angle from different aspects before finalizing their desired view.
