Sketchup what's new is that there are a few ways to use the program. In addition, you can easily add or remove components from an assembly just by dragging them in from the Components palette. What else is new? Improvements have been made when drawing curves and arcs with sketch points. In addition, when you're in wireframe mode in any viewport type, your model won't appear until you activate a face in a previous component or select a face in a previous component and hit the space bar. If I had more time, I would talk about other interesting features too.. Take care!

The newest version of Google Sketchup allows users to model and texture 3D buildings as if they were cross-sectioned or unfolded, all from a bird's eye view. For those who use Google Sketchup as the primary tool for their architectural needs, there is now an incredibly helpful addition to the program: the ability to inspect building structures and materials. The changes in this update allow you to rotate your entire building and materialize cutaway views like never before. This update will spur creativity and innovation among architects, engineers and designers alike.

What a great question. None of the Sketchup team has a good answer for you because we're all old and out of touch, so that is not something we think about much. So I looked it up on Google and got this from SketchUp's site from 2014 which says "In 2008, there were 737 million professional designers with access to software capable of 3D sketching.". And after doing some more research, I found this article with a 2008 Sofrep story where they quoted Major General James J. Huggins as saying "This remote simulation capability will be very valuable in Afghanistan". Look at that! You're getting into big time stuff now!

We've been toiling away like crazy on a new feature-set for SketchUp 2017. This is the first time we've had an entirely dedicated team on revamping some really important features. Here are just some of the things you'll find in 2017:. A material library with more than 600 different materials, including style variations, used by architects and designers. Material switching makes it quick and easy to select materials that match colors or textures already present in your model. You can even use color swatches from your project documents, images or other 3D models as material references!

SketchUp, the 3D modeling app, recently added an Interactive View so users can actually see what their designs will look like before they export them. The view adjusts any time the model is rotated or scaled, so it easy to know which way something really aligns. To access this feature, just click on "Start Interactive" in the toolbar at the top of your screen. If you're not using Sketchup you definitely should! It's free and anyone can use it!
