To answer your question, it depends on what you need SketchUp for. There are two versions of the free version that come with limitations. The newer but less advanced one is called SketchUp Make, and the older but more advanced one is called SketchUp Pro 2017. The limitations of both versions are the rendering - they don't export to animation formats like After Effects or Premiere Pro so if you want to share animations in video form, this software may not be what you're looking for.

SketchUp Version 2018 is the current version of SketchUp, and it is completely free. SketchUp provides 3D modeling software for anyone to use. With this program you create three-dimensional objects line by line, just like drawing with pencil on paper. And never before has 3D design been so easy! The bare-bones version of Sketchup includes more than 130 3D shapes which can be used to assemble any shape or geometry that appears in nature or imagination. You can import thousands of other shapes from downloadable libraries (and they're easy to find) and if necessary, create your own simple custom shapes with a few clicks of the mouse - saving hours upon hours of work!

What sketchup version is free? SketchUp 2018 is a freely downloadable, simple to use Google's 3D modeling. In this lessons we will cover how to import an image into SketchUp and create a basic birdhouse model from it. I'll also show you the tools necessary for practical modeling in 3D.

The one that has been translated from SketchUp pro into this beginner friendly plugin, which was originally made by Nathan Shearer to demo his AutoCAD-to-Sketchup conversion software...It's basically AutoCAD with a new interface. It does come with some great plugins like "Loft" and "Joints." You can make really complex models really fast with it but you have

Google Sketchup is the only free version of software that offers an extensive range of features. It can be used to model people, animals, buildings and virtually any object. The basic feature suite within Google Sketchup consists of tools for drawing terrain surfaces; creating 3D cubes; adding components like wires/feet/ball joints (to make furniture); extruding objects (to make shapes like cones, rectangles etc..); attaching other parts like hinges etc.; combining them together to form assemblies; rendering images or videos; or even exporting STL files for 3D printers. Course pages at college-level engineering programs may also be helpful in answering your question.

Professional SketchUp is available in two versions, SketchUp Make and SketchUp Pro. To get started with either version it's only necessary to download the free version of the software. For the Pro Edition - While you no longer need an educational or commercial license to use Sketup for your personal projects, there are some limitations on what you're able to do. These restrictions might not be important unless you're working on professional level projects like architecture or large scale developments, but if this is truly what your needs are sometimes rendering scenes with shadows can cost $40 after a one time fee while scenes with ambient occlusion can cost up to $70 (more for scenes combining these effects).

SketchUp for 2015 is the latest version of the free, basic 3D modeling program. It can make any size or style model you want, but it's limited by your computer's performance and memory rather than any other restrictions. SketchUp for 2015 is a much-improved version that concentrates on making your favorite sketching tools easy to use. Stumped on how to create an angled front edge? Created an unintentional gap? The new SketchUp means you don't have to wait hours for something as simple as copying one element twice.
