Sketchup how to change dimensions? If you're asking how to change the width and height of an object, try offsetting one side of your box. If you want set a specific dimension (say, 1x1 or 12x12), select the ruler icon from the toolbar, and click and drag it over either edge. Then specify what you'd like for both width and height. Some other tips about changing dimensions: You can also use the "select New Size" button in place of trying to hold down Ctrl and move objects around. If you're testing whether two Sketchups line up properly, we recommend clicking on "Tools > Align Fronts & Backs".

SketchUp's modeling tools are extremely powerful and can help you create sophisticated and realistic shapes out of boxes, cylinders, cones and more. To change the dimensions in sketch up, select "edit" from the menu bar at the top of your screen. This will drop down a text box that says "Size:" To change size simply type in what you would like to dimension as height or width as desired. You can also use these features for circumferences as well as areas by selecting density measurements such as feet or meters instead of inches or centimeters respectively.

-Let's suppose you want to reduce the width of a wall by 10 cm. -Go to the view, ceiling and floor it; then select the wall and choose Exit Front Edges and select right edges and remove some dimensions. You can apply this method change other dimensions. This is true in most common drafting programs such as Sketch Up, AutoCAD, etc. There should be some type of "extinguish" function for lines that are no longer necessary or useful - if not in your drawing package than one using MS Paint or Gimp likely has such functionality built into it with its text/bug deletion tools which resemble an eraser.

Sketchup is a simple but powerful 3D drawing tool. Here's how to change dimensions:. 1. If you have the coordinates of the edge in mind, highlight one of your edges and press Ctrl+C on your keyboard to copy that selection. 2. Highlight another edge in your model, then press Ctrl+V to paste the previous selection over it and replace its length with yours. 3. Press Enter when you're satisfied with what you've done! 4. To delete an edge from your model, right-click a selected segment or click a segment and select Delete in the toolbar at any time while editing in place in Model Space! 5.

To adjust a dimension, you need to select the face that has said dimension before entering the value. In addition, if one of your dimensions is an exact length or width measurement then hold down Shift while reducing/enlarging this dimension before letting go. For example, selecting a straight edge would cause creating an associative constraint which divides our model into two halves- so any changes made on either side will correspond to changes on the other side as well.

Sketchup how to change dimensions? Click the dimension you want to adjust and drag. Some final thoughts:. - When adjusting a distance or angle, make sure that at least one of the two objects (whichever direction is desired) is selected. If they're not both selected, it will reset to 0 rather than change in relation with each other like you may have wanted. - To select an object, right click on it. - Double clicking on any line represents "immediate selection" so simply dragging your cursor along one side will draw an entire side of the object for example, whereas single clicking various points on all 4 available sides will generate measurements for individual facets of an inverted polygonal shape for example.
