One of the limitations of SketchUp is that everyone needs an Internet connection to input geometry data and export their 3D files to other formats like STL, OBJ, DAE. Further more it is restricted in terms of size and file type when exporting STLs - which limits your ability to be very detailed in complex designs because welding surfaces together will result in unseen structural differences with n-gons created between them. These models are often difficult to print with predictable results due for this reason alone.
