SketchUp requires an operating system with a minimum of 2 GB or RAM and, so for this reason you will need to use the Google Chrome OS in order to run SketchUp unless your Chromebook has more than 2GB-4GB of RAM. If you do not have the hardware required by SketchUp there is no way to run it on Windows or Mac OSX and moreover it does not offer a downloadable offline version which you might be able to try without having access to any other applications. Let's talk about why we don't have a download capable offline version, shall we?

Sketchup does work on Chromebook, but not natively. Unfortunately, Sketch Up pro does not run on Chrome OS computer by default. There are certain sketching apps that can be installed in the browser via the google chrome store, but they do not have all of the features or depth of potential for complexity as what you could find on a laptop with Windows or Apple operating system. So if you are looking to use it for larger projects, I would recommend checking out other options.

SketchUp should work on Google Pixel. Unfortunately, SketchUp does not offer an offline app for Chromebook. You will need to use a different device (like PC, Mac) to download and install the desktop version of SketchUp first. Once you complete the installation process on your laptop or desktop computer, then it is possible that you can open up Sketchup files by downloading them onto your device through the cloud icon in the top right corner of screen (while offline).

Chromebooks are a relatively new development in the field of laptop computers. Currently, they run Google's Chrome OS operating system, which can be downloaded for free from their website. One of the benefits of running Chrome OS is that it does not require a lot of horsepower to perform unlike most laptops or PCs that need much more power to operate Windows operating systems. Browser extensions will also be used so you can work with SketchUp files through your browser and save your work back to your local file server or cloud storage account such as Dropbox or Google Drive. Chromebooks should work well enough to allow you to access and edit models via SketchUp.
