Interior design is a challenging profession that takes a lot of knowledge, creativity, and patience. But the feeling you get when someone loves your design work is unlike anything else in this world. The main challenge for interior designers is that they need to understand how everything works together inside an environment whether it be architecture, engineering, or lighting, as well as understanding their client's needs. A successful interior designer will be able to make wise decisions about what type of furniture will go best with the space and research retail options and pricing so they can satisfy their clients' needs.

An interior designer is someone who understands art, art history, design principles. Despite the image people have of an ornate furniture arrangement or a wallpaper tapestry behind every door or wall plastered with color swatches and paint samples, what constitutes the "interior design" profession is an understanding of how to combine effective visual communication in order to constantly provoke emotion from clients. In other words, there are two levels on which interior designers interact with clients - firstly as artists who want to make something beautiful for their client; secondly as salespeople and marketers who need to persuade people that they shouldn't hire a contractor instead because they're cheaper.

Interior designers are mostly self-employed. It's not a hard job if you can manage your time, balance creative abilities and technical skills, and always produce quality work. Being an interior designer requires designing spaces with appropriate furniture placement. Typically the interior design world is competitive. There is no better feeling than seeing your vision come to life in the space after being able to envision it yourself!

With a little training and experience, the work of an interior designer can be both challenging and rewarding. The hours might seem long at times, but there is always so much to learn and discover. It's very important for every day designers to keep in mind that they are not only building someone else's house or home, but also their own and need to find ways of reducing stress levels. It takes a certain level of organization and meticulousness, but it's in no way difficult because you're simply using your eye to make decisions about colors and textures. It's a science-based profession that utilizes three basic principles under the guidelines of color theory, texture theory and proportion theory. The goal is to create balance with these fundamental elements of design, as well as provide an emotional connection for the interior space.
