Gauri Khan has been a prominent name in the world of interior design for over two decades. She is responsible for designing many iconic hotels and award-winning residences in India, the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia as well as commercial spaces. Her natural inclination to create was evident at an early age when she would design dolls' clothes and bedrooms. As a student of sociology at St Stephen's College in Delhi, her interest lay primarily in anthropology which she pursued backpacking through Africa and Southeast Asia where she encountered tribal cultures that managed to live with such beauty without having much material wealth. Soon after this experience she chose to work on restoring large old homes from within which paved the way for showcasing her creativity with architecture focusing largely on residential projects.
