If you want to go to school for interior design, there are a wide variety of programs offered that will teach the fundamentals and everything else about this career. You can find a great program by doing some research online or talking with not your academic advisor. Academics at universities often have more up-to-date information than those from colleges because they focus on the most contemporary aspects of any profession. A bachelor's degree is usually enough for an entry-level position and funding for school may be available in some cases through student aid or scholarships/bursaries.

If you want to be a designer, there are two things that you can do. First, you can attend a liberal arts school and study engineering or architecture, for example. Second, instead of attending college or university as a student to get your degree in design art fields, you may need to have extensive experience in the professional designing field(s) first before being courted by an institution of higher learning for their graduate program. Check with the colleges and universities in your region to see what is available- though this does not mean that all institutions have the same curriculum requirements/requirements. Always take into consideration both both programs and coursework offered at various schools when comparing them- qualifications differ from one another despite offering similar degrees.

There are two paths to get into interior design school; either path is challenging, and you need passion.
The first step is to look at your prior education and decide what you want to major/minor in. Then find a school that offers a degree in the desired field.
The second option is enrolling itself, depending on availability. This choice might require the potential for sacrifice during the years of studying designed spatial living environments, before earning a diploma or certificate (or equivalent) of completion leading to entry level practice as an Interior Designer Professional.

This is a difficult question, as the answer will be different based on where you live/study. It would depend on what kind of school you are looking for. Some schools offer an Associate’s degree, others offer Bachelors of Arts or Bachelor's degrees in General Design (with the Interior Design concentration), and still other design schools provide Certificate study programs that focus on building design with an interior design emphasis. The best thing to do is speak to your guidance counselor about what types of courses they recommend, then research those colleges online by visiting their website and complete their general application to see if they fit your requirements and interests.
