One university that offers interior design is the University of Washington in Seattle. They offer a degree in nursing as well, which provides proficiency on diagnosing health issues and understanding the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of patients. And while you may have to travel about 3000 miles for graduation ceremony, it's worth the journey.

Having a degree in interior design does not mean that you will then automatically be qualified to work with professional designers. In the US, there are less than 3% of school graduates in this profession who work as designers or have any such type of employment. There are many other careers available for those who pursue a Bachelor's Degree in interior design.
To be an interior designer, one must graduate from programs which focus on this area and specialize in its elements and art forms. The biggest distinction between these design schools is whether they offer degrees from an accredited organization like the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). Programs offered through the prestigious NAAB "accredited programs" can provide much better preparation for becoming an accredited professional.

Universities that offer interior design is the answer to a question visitors get asked. The most common universities that offer this program are located in California, but there are plenty of others around the world.
The undergraduate courses offered often follow one of these nine main course majors: architecture, environmental design, fashion design (incl. trend analysis), furniture design and interiors (includes interior digital representation).
Undergraduate degree programs can be a two-year associate after high school or four-year bachelor's degree afterwards. It is also possible for someone with an art background to study various aspects of designing objects, spaces and environments creatively without completing all the requirements for a major or minor in Interior Design at university level.

The most recognized university is the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. The school's interior design degrees allow students to take courses in a wide range of interiors areas including hospitality, fitness, healthcare, transportation and work environments. Other US universities with degree programs include Illinois State University in Normal, Stanford University's department of architecture (not offered currently), North Carolina State University's College of Design Program - Landscape Architecture & Urban Planning Department. While these schools offer undergraduate degrees or minors in design studies they are really only accredited for post-graduate degrees; making it difficult for them to graduate with any type of Interior Design Degree or major at the undergraduate level.
