Style your bedroom for its natural character. Choose furniture that you love to live with, since it will be a major decision in the life of the room. This approach can give your small bedroom a big impact and make it feel larger than it is. Combine high with low, sofas next to chairs, simple wood nightstands next to more ornate ones--whatever suits your taste and style. If you have a wide bed frame, arrange pieces of furniture on each side of your bed instead of centering them all proximate to one side so that given space feels much wider.
Cue moody lighting. Dim lamps at night will create ambiance without over-powering the room or making it impossible to read.

A typical wall of a bedroom has the potential to be broken down into different zones

    1) transitional space- this is the area in front of the door and includes closets and doors. This zone should not contain furniture. People coming into a room wear clothes for their activities outside that space, so it's unnecessary for a bed or dresser to be here.
    2) work and store- The width of an upper body wardrobe can extend across this zone in most cases and lead up to one edge of a window or on either side of the door if there are no windows. A small desk could nestle against one end with some light storage units to hold more well-used items such as books, magazines, candles.

First, the card room area with a bed and wardrobe butted up against each other. The world's most popular sleeping position is on your side, so that means your head should not be in a corner! On either side of the bed, put the drawer chest and night stand as far back as possible without taking up space needed for walking around the perimeter. Open shelves are nice for storing those extra books or throws you may need for cold nights. If adding a desk to save on space at this point is feasible, place it between one of the bedside chests and work with creating an L shaped set up from both directions (to avoid long corridors). But there are multitudes of ways to organize furniture in small spaces.

It is important for a room to flow - that furniture in the same colors are next to one another, and furnishings of different textures or patterns mingle well with one another. For example, don't put all smooth furniture like couches up against a wall, let some throw pillows be against the wall so they don't stick out. Remember light tones need to go near dark hues and vice versa just as much as neutrals can mix with accent colors. Brown would not pair well with bright red because they are opposites on the color wheel (brown being warm whites/reds). Some browns would pair well with teal greens while others would have difficulty pairing at all.

This is the internet and not your bedroom, so you may want to keep your answer to a paragraph. It's hard if you don't have any furniture, but there are some tricks that people use that show these work well in small bedrooms like this. You can try stacking 2 or 3 books on their side and using them as a bedside table. An alternative way is to put 2 tables together on the wall opposite from the doorway, leaning against the wall with one leg propped on its side. If you need shelves for storing clothes or other items, an old door or some planks of wood can be mounted across two buy cheap Ikea expedit storage items category - arimo shelves with brackets .

It is important to make sure that you have enough room for everything. For the bed, it is optimal to have at least two feet on either side of the bed. There should be about four feet between the head and foot of the bed. In any space, windows are usually mirrored on a wall opposite each other, especially in a bedroom where light never seems popular. A dressing table or closet can also be placed next to one window if they provide more natural lighting than artificial sources such as lamplight or lamps.
Finally, when arranging furniture for small bedrooms it is important not to overcrowd your space with sofas, coffee tables etc., which will create a claustrophobic feel in your bedroom.
