An interior designer does the actual selection of colors, furnishings, and home goods for a project. Architects may also work on certain aspects of interior design but generally they are in charge of structural systems more than specifics like paint color or furniture.
Different words for architects include architect, urban planner, and architectural engineer. All companies that build houses might have an architect to design their new projects and sometimes firms will outsource this type of work to freelance architects rather than having one company employee do all the architect work themselves. The name "interior decorator" is often wrongly used as a synonym for "interior designer". A big difference is that interior designers usually specialize in commercial spaces while many decorators offer their services to both residential and personal projects.

The difference between an architect and an interior architect is that the former specializes in designing buildings on a large scale, while companies that only focus on interior design have to work with resources that are confined within the given space. This can include anything from colors of walls, fixtures like doors, doors frames etc., wallpapers or fabrics for the upholstery of sofas and chairs along with carpets. Interior designers typically provide services just for interiors rather than for exteriors as well; additionally, they usually spend more time preparing budgets and presentations than architects.

An interior architect deals with the design and layout of a space including spaces for living, kitchen tasks, work areas, recreation and controlling daylight. The term also includes architects involved in designing of "outdoor rooms" such as courtyards so they seamlessly clean into the indoor space. They are concerned with furnishing and decorating this designed liveable space according to lifestyle needs by satisfying individual tastes while at the same time incorporating all building laws- fire regulations, minimum room sizes etc.
Whereas an architect typically deals with architectural exteriors which can include structural questions such as footings or foundations for buildings that are not yet constructed but will be located on land that has not yet been developed.

The difference between an interior architect and an architect is that architects design buildings that have the building's exterior and the structural integrity layout, whereas interior architects are responsible for insuring a building has a livable, functional interior design.
Interior architects orchestrate and coordinate space to meet desired needs of function, life-quality all depending on some universal principals. They must also have knowledge of sustainable principles geared towards conserving natural resources. Educated in architecture, they understand that architectural theory applies not only to structures but also to spaces which can be further defined as four dimensional (height x length x depth x time).

Interior architects typically focus on designing the interior of a building, such as the layout of public spaces, offices, classrooms and residential areas. They also oversee construction.
Architects are more involved with design planning and preparation while interior architects deal with comprehensive implementation from concept to completion.
An architect is someone who is trained in construction specifics like load-bearing capacity, zoning codes or dealing with contractors whereas an interior architect has never really had to "build" anything because they're just implementing ideas that were initially designed by professionals inside a company who does all the heavy lifting (construction) work for them. But either way it's not something you can become just by watching tutorials online or reading an eBook.

An architect typically focuses on the design of a building's structure, its environment and resilience to natural disasters. The work of an interior designer is more about aesthetics--including decoration, preservation and furnishing. Interior designers are often called upon by architects and property developers as specialists in the nuances of how lighting affects moods, color choice for maximum visual impact or material selection that reflects cultural traditions.
