You can become a home decorator through
    - Apprenticeship
    - College degree programs in interior design and decoration (or textile design)
    - Ongoing self-education training, often with a professional association.
Professional associations offer an alternative educational track for those who arent able to attend college. Professional education is beneficial for those who may want or need to work full time while attending school as well as hone their skills in furniture styles, trend forecasting and business management. Professional associations are perfect for people seeking mentorship opportunities as they pair you with industry leaders who specialize in the field of interior design and decoration.

A home decorator is someone who improves the aesthetic appeal of space within a domestic living environment, applying their skill or knowledge to make intensive visual changes such as remodelling or redecoration. A person typically specialises in one aspect of design, and may have expertise in colour schemes, fabric choices, area rugs and furniture arrangements.
A housekeeper is someone who keeps things orderly by dusting, vacuuming and cleaning as they go about their work. They might be responsible for restrooms and laundry rooms as well as keeping the kitchen appliances uncluttered (e.g., countertops) and food stores replenished (lots). To qualify at this level you need major education qualifications and years of experience.

Have you done any home decorating projects yourself in the past? That is a very good place to start! True experts have experience. If you haven't, then why don't you search for some easy or low-impact projects such as painting your living room or cleaning up an entire room? Get your feet wet with these before tackling something too complicated. And don't be discouraged if what you do isn't "perfect" because the whole point of these exercises is to educate and learn about what works.

Home decorators are usually interior designers with a formal education in design.
A person who is not formally educated in design may be the best candidate to hire for as they may just need a sense of style and ingenuity to "pull" a room together. A professional furniture designer will provide you with set plans, while an amateur will rely on their imagination (and your budget) much more. So if creativity is what you're looking for, then this can work out well; but individuals who seek professionalism at all levels should look elsewhere.

The best way to become a decorator is very much dependent on your interests
You can become a home decorator by studying art, design, interior or architecture. You could also consider making it into a hobby through trial and error with some of the more basic DIY tasks such as painting the walls, installing shelves, hanging artwork, etc
Home decorating falls within one of three general categories: commercial design for multi-unit properties; residential building for individuals in single family homes; and retail samples where designers are being creative before production -- these designers often work closely with architects as well as fabricators or material suppliers.
