Harmony is the aesthetic effect created by balancing variety with unity. The best way to achieve harmony in your design is to consider that true beauty lies not in surface variety but in unity of color, material, and form. Sometimes it's necessary to use an opposing color to unify a room, or bring it together. However, allowing too much contrast leads to chaos rather than harmony. The key is balance. Balance between clean lines and soft curves will create elegance; balance between noisy pieces of furniture versus empty space builds drama; balance between light colors and dark colors creates searing tension all these can be achieved by carefully assessing what makes sense for each individual room or space based on proportions, shapes.

The harmony of an interior design is whatever appeals to the eye and mind-a feeling of lightness, spaciousness, a balanced proportion of soft neutrals with plenty of contrast. The more natural--natural fibers like cotton, linen, wool; rattan or wicker furniture; materials that emit warmth and peace like marble, stone or wood flooring--the better. Creating "harmony" in your space means creating a place where you feel at ease emotionally and intellectually. If it's not right for you personally yet feels good to visit occasionally--maybe it's not quite time for that in-ground swimming pool out back.

Harmony is when you can balance different elements together to create an overall balanced, pleasant environment. This includes matching colors, textures, and adding touches of decoration.
A good place to start assembling a harmonic design is by choosing the color scheme first and then finding furniture that fits those colors. Even if what you have in your home doesn't all match perfectly at the moment, it will as you add decorations over time. Be creative! There are tons of options for how to make a room harmonious- try out different combinations and see what works best for your personality. Remember that less is usually more when it comes to interior design so don't be afraid to stick with less clutter.
