Yes, I think it's important to have a degree in interior design for several reasons. Interior design is a complex field that requires both creativity and technical skills. A degree will give you the opportunity to learn about the history and theory of interior design, as well as gain practical experience in creating functional and aesthetic spaces.

Most interior designers have at least a bachelor’s degree in interior design or a closely related field.

There are several reasons why having a degree is important for an interior designer. Firstly, most clients will prefer to hire someone who has a formal qualification in the field. Secondly, a degree gives you the opportunity to learn about the history and theory of design, which can be extremely helpful in your day-to-day work. Finally, having a degree shows that you are serious about your career and willing to put in the hard work required to succeed.

A degree in interior design is not a requirement to become an interior designer, but it can certainly be helpful. There are a number of schools that offer accredited programs in interior design, and if you have the time and money, pursuing a degree could give you a leg up in the industry. Even if you don't want to pursue a full-fledged career in interior design, taking some classes could still be beneficial; they would teach you the basics of space planning, color theory, and other important concepts that come into play when designing living spaces.

I think it depends on what field of interior design you want to go into. For some fields, like residential design, a degree may not be required but for other fields, like kitchen and bath design, proficient AutoCAD skills are definitely required and most likely a degree as well. If you are interested in commercial design or hospitality design, then a degree is definitely preferred. Generally, I think having a degree gives you an edge over those who don't have one but if you're creative and have good taste, then that should be enough to get your foot in the door. A lot of times with interior design, it's all about who you know anyways so if you have a connection at a firm, that could be helpful too!

There are a number of reasons why I think having a degree in interior design is important. First and foremost, it gives you the skills and knowledge necessary to be a successful interior designer. Interior designers need to have a strong understanding of space planning, color theory, lighting design, and furniture selection and placement. They must also be able to effectively communicate their vision to clients and contractors. A degree in interior design from an accredited program will provide you with all of the necessary skills and knowledge to be successful in this field.
