There are many ways to learn interior design. You can find plenty of resources online, including books, websites, and even online courses. You can also take physical classes at a community college or art school. Many interior designers also apprentice with established professionals to gain experience in the industry.

There's no one answer to this question since everyone's journey into interior design is going to be different. For some people, it might be something they've always been interested in and have self-taught themselves through reading books and magazines, attending design events or even taking online courses. Others may have studied it formally at college or university, either completing a degree or diploma in interior design.

I learned interior design through a variety of channels – online courses, books, and on-the-job experience.

For online courses, I’d recommend looking into business or art schools that offer accredited programs. For books, stick to well-established designers rather than general titles about home décor. If you want to learn on the job, working as an intern for a design firm is a great way to get your foot in the door and gain industry knowledge and insight. No matter which route you take, always strive to be creative and push the boundaries of what’s possible in terms of design.

For some designers, it all starts with a natural interest and talent for creating aesthetically pleasing spaces. Others may have been influenced by their own personal experiences with stylish homes and formally trained in the field. Additionally, many designers learn new tips and tricks through continual experimentation and practice.
