Sketchup has tutorials aplenty across the web, but you can also take any of their introductory classes in class or on-line.
One step up from here is Google SketchUp for 3D modeling, which has some fairly decent tutorials as well. There are even advanced tutorials that help you combine photorealistic textures to create 3D renders with SketchUp and Vue d'Esprit! You can also find many detailed lessons over at Tutorials Point.

Sketchup is free to download and use, there are two different versions. One of which is a bare-bones, free version, and the other which has lots of add ons for purchase from sketchup store. The YouTube tutorials are pretty good as well as their help center with support resources/tools like this online 3D modeling tutorial to get started with sketchup

One of the benefits sketchup is that it can be used browser-based. It's true that some Sketchup tutorials on Youtube might teach the application better, but there are a few pros to learning through online software.
First, sketch up has easy drag and drops for adding elements which makes it easier for beginners who are trying to get the hang of navigating their way around in Sketchup. They don't have to spend hours trying to figure out how things work because everything is laid out as a systematic process in order for them to do what they want.

SketchUp is very easy to learn. Start by understanding what type of model you want or need to produce. For example, building a chair requires a lot less geometry than designing and manufacturing an airplane wing. You can also download SketchUp for free from your Google Account for use at school or work on models produced collaboratively with colleagues.
