SketchUp is a free 3D modelling program. TechShop offers something like 1000 hours of classes to help with learning interior design. SketchUp is a free 3D modelling program. TechShop offers something like 1000 hours of classes to help with learning, some sketch-up oriented and some broader (make-a-throne, makerspace for real estate models). I learned using the "complete guide" book and I'm not an expert now by any means but can solve 90%+ of my needs using just that (plus following tutorials) so recommend starting there.

If you're not a programmer, I find that SketchUp is by far the best 3d design tool to start with because it's so intuitive and helpful. There's no learning curve for installation or how to use it - just fire up the website and start clicking!
There are hundreds of YouTube tutorials on almost anything you want to build in SketchUp so there's never a point where you can't figure something out if you really try. And if all else fails, most SketchUppers are very friendly and happy to help each other out when someone is stuck- they're one of the nicest communities on the internet!

Sketchup is an excellent application that enables you to draw up 3-D floor plans, architectural designs, or just about anything else with a little patience and creativity. SketchUp's intuitive interface makes it easy for beginners to produce items simple enough for children of any age to enjoy creating and designing with these programs.
SketchUp offers three versions: SketchUp Free, SketchUp Make and the professional version called SketchUp Pro. The two main differences in the free version and the paid versions are either learning time, or the time needed to create renderings from your sketches. You will need to buy a license online if you want to use any advanced features in design (outsiders only).
