There are two general interior design degrees. One is an Architectural degree, which focuses more on the construction-side of things - and one is an Interior Design degree, which tackles how to make it look nice.
What type of Interior Designer do you want to be?
It's important that you know in advance what type of Interia Designer you would like to be so that you can decide what schooling path has the best chance to yield your desired result. In most cases, if you're really not sure which way to go then get both education paths may be a good option for some people.

The basic degree requirement for a capable designer is usually at least one bachelor's degree in an art-related field. Interior design generally requires classes in decoration, graphic design, psychology, and management. It also usually requires some coursework or work experience outside the field of interior decorating. Aspiring designers must be qualified to lead projects from start to finish by listing their qualifications on their resumes or portfolios. Education is the key to success within this dynamic profession; but it does not end there--internships are just as important, if not more so when looking to break into the industry. Scholarship opportunities like Art Renewal Center's can help young designers pave the way towards future success!
