There is no certificate or degree necessary to learn how to decorate your home. Some people elect a design course, but they may be too specialist for the simple interior design tasks that you want to do. Interior design can also be learned online as well from excellent hub pages such as Houzz (which has project plans) and HGTV. There are free tutorials on YouTube too, plus local organizations will often offer their services for free! I hope this helped!

If you go to college, students may enroll in a two-year program or four-year program, depending on the field and job prospects. If this is not an option for you, there are many tutorials online which can give you a great foundation of interior design knowledge. There is also living room decoration in regular bookstores with books and magazines for reference.

There are plenty of options for learning interior decoration. For example you can enroll in a class at your local college and acquire the necessary skills. You could also take online courses, attend lectures, or read books on the topic. Interior decorators still offer residential clients one-day workshops called 'decoration parties' where they come to your home and teach you how to make it look more beautiful while you have fun with friends and colleagues. The advantage of these is not only that you get professional guidance but that most people now live far from their extended families, so these assemblies give them an opportunity to find community with others near in age or stage of life.
