The definition of modern design is a style of art, architecture, furnishings and products that self-consciously accept the principles of industrialized society and mass production.
Therefore some trends to include in an interior design would be double-helix light fixtures or any fixtures with a unique shape (since these are more expensive), smooth metallics. Some typical materials used when designing include stainless steel, aluminum or anything off the color wheel since they'll create vibrancy in the space. You might see different modular furniture arrangements and neutral scale carpeting for optimal functionality in regard to movement throughout the space.

Interior design is the process of planning the layout and decoration of the interior space in a house, office, or other building.
So there are many different styles for modern homes that you might want to look at - one would be Mid-century Modern, which is primarily linear furniture with strong horizontal lines that emphasize natural textures like wood and leather (it's known as such because it came out following the war). And another popular style for designing modern spaces is Scandinavian Design, which emphasizes clean lines, minimality (fewer textiles), light colors and sometimes unadorned white walls.

Modern interior design styles tend to be more simplistic as compared to other types of aesthetics. They utilize more modern materials such as steel, aluminum, and glass. Rugged and masculine designs are common.
There are a variety of modern design styles that typically use the same materials with different colors so that each room in your home can have a unique color scheme for its space as well authenticity in feel.

Modern interior design style is a term used to describe the aesthetics in modern-day living. Modrenity can be looked upon as being on the cutting edge of what we define as contemporary art and design, meaning it blends well with future trends.
The majority of hipster fashion websites are guilty of perpetuating images of tan leather couches with periwinkle walls, furry white blankets and everything from a dotting bunny motif to an entire cityscape painted on one wall. Alternatively one showroom in New York includes Brooklyn art with paintings by Jean Tinguely alongside Jonathan Adler's sculptures for a bright vibe that suits any modernist's taste.

Modern Interior Design Style is any style that aims to maximize the efficiency and performance of space. It often uses contemporary modular furniture, such as desks with trolleys and sofa seats. It usually incorporates lots of metal - stainless steel, aluminum or chrome for kitchen tap fixtures, radiator covers and ceiling panels. Modern Interior Design styles can be subdivided into three categories: minimalist modernism; functional modernism, and postmodern expressionism.
Postmodern Expressionist design style is when there is contrast between old and new objects in an interior setting (e.g., a vintage chair next to a modern leather sofa).

Modern interior design styles often fall into any of the following categories.
    - Minimalism
    - Bohemian style decor
    - Inspirational living room decor
    - Rustic, masculine living room decor
    - Urban styles. This means dense cities with lot's of concrete and parking. City buildings are typically constructed in a cubist form, with steel or aluminum frames and glass windows which are often tinted green or blue to cut down on energy costs while allowing more light inside; asphalt is usually the dominant material used for paving roads; traffic lights dot intersections to regulate movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
