I learn a lot in landscape architecture! I learn how to design outdoor spaces, how to select plants and hardscape materials, how to construct retaining walls and other features, and most importantly, how to work with nature to create beautiful, functional landscapes.

Most people think of designers as creating manicured gardens or planning golf courses. Certainly, these are aspects of our profession. However, the heart of what we do is far more than that. We work hard to restore natural habitats, clean up polluted sites, connect people with their food sources through community gardens and farmers' markets, increase home values through well-designed green spaces, and so much more.
