I always recommend following your instinct to make sure a piece of furniture is special and feels like you want it in your home. For instance, if you loved the coffee table your mom had when you were young, making sure that is find its way into your own interior design.
Most people don't know what's right for them when they come to us looking for something new. But by looking at examples of someone's personal style or even visiting their home during the day—we may be able to help them take ownership over their purchase without feeling like they're not getting what suits them best. We also help clients who are moving from one space to another—to identify what pieces might go well with the previous look before introducing new pieces.

The following are some rules for deciding what pieces to buy.

Rule #1: If you like the piece as shown, take it home and use if for six months or more; if you hate it after that time then either give it away or sell it.

Rule #2: There should be at least four feet of clearance in front of a cabinet. This gives room to open the door without hitting other things. In addition, cabinet heights will vary. When buying a shorter cabinet, avoid placing lower cabinets directly under them because this can create an unsafe tripping hazard as people back into lower cabinets while going out of taller ones (and falls happen). Main sink-area cabinets should come up high enough to accommodate.

First, you want to figure out the size of the room. For example, if you have a living room that is about 600 sq feet., then you'll need to buy furniture that will accommodate both your family AND company. Having chairs that are mismatched can make for an uncomfortable visit - and having too much seating can make it difficult for guests to converse freely with one another. The same goes for couches - taking into account their size and shape as they relate to the height of end tables is important but also takes into account safety when considering smaller children or pets.

Choosing furniture for your home can seem like a daunting task, but it doesn't have to be! Below are some guidelines and tips for making the process easier.

    1) Figure out a broad theme that you would like to incorporate in your space so that it feels cohesive. For example, if you live near the sea, think about using coastal-style decor and colors. If you are more interested in warm earth tones, consider using rustic wood furniture or garments in natural fabrics.
    2) Scale is an important consideration when setting up a home. A room should look well proportioned with respect to its size and have a sense of balance no matter how many pieces of furniture are present at one time.

“The internet is a good place to start when shopping for furniture. There are many price comparulators out there with the best prices found on them.
“There's something about buying home furnishings that just spells fun (unless you're spending your own money). And in today's competitive market, it's usually not difficult finding the right items at reasonable prices.

It should go without saying that purchasing pieces of furniture goes hand in hand with interior design and knowing what style you are going for can help make selection much easier as you will be looking for specific examples of both types and styles available which will fit well into your desired rooming arrangements.
