Generally, yes. Interior design is most commonly a career path for those who are looking to improve their environment, design spaces that serve the needs of people, and create an inviting and comfortable feeling in a space. While many focus on the aesthetic side (furniture layout), interior designers will also incorporate aspects like human behavior (to ensure that traffic flows as smoothly as possible) into their designs.

It's a difficult field to break into because of the number of would-be designers. Competition is fierce in this industry, which can be a good and unhealthy thing. As design become more important in our lives, there has been an increase in interior design schools; therefore, it may be wise to investigate potential options.
The most traditional interior design degree is from an art school or university that offers general degrees for those who are not artistic by nature but still want to pursue a career in the field. Alternatively, there are many "design boot camps" that teach for less than 18 months.

So you want to become an interior designer. Great! That's a long process with many different steps. But for now just answer a few questions:

    1) Do you love art and creativity?
    2) Would you like to create magic in the world?
    3) Are you good at math or science (even if it's only basic knowledge)? 4) Are you attentive to detail, execution, and responsibility?
    5) Do your parents have enough money to pay for college for eight years even if they had no income until then? 6a...)Or do they really need other people's money in order to continue living their current lifestyle(including your well-being)?

It is difficult to predict if you will like a career in interior design. Not all people enjoy this type of work, but others might find it their calling for life where they succeed both personally and professionally through designing beautiful spaces that make everyday lives better.
A typical day varies depending on the profession level and company size, but a general description includes evaluating current interiors (both residential and commercial), brainstorming new designs, preparing documents with possible concepts or ideas, scheduling clients for meetings and attending site visits to oversee projects during progress. The position also requires expertise in the field of interior design (i.e., color theory, furniture placement).

If we look at the definition of "interior design" it is, "A profession in which an architect or designer looks for potential clients and develops a layout plan for homes", this is very vague. There are many elements to interior design such as physical attributes, psychological factors and also aesthetic products when designing for living spaces. All these elements are important in keeping work interesting and they help to engage creativity within the harmonious relationship between indoors and outdoors.
