Landscape architects - or LAs as they're sometimes called - design the landscape features that people interact with every day, like parks and buildings. The profession combines art, technical skills and decision-making and involves all sorts of practical solutions for problems like water management. And it's a lucrative career path to boot! According to one study, LA salaries are at least three times higher than those in engineering ($84k vs $28k).
LAs can work for private firms or consult municipalities on what to do with certain spaces. Landscape architecture is an important part of construction and if you succeed here, there are plenty of high-paying consulting jobs waiting for you!
