What is modern rustic design?

Modern rustic design is a style in which homes have some traditional materials, such as acoustic tiles with ceramic tiles or beams with hardwood flooring. Other elements are also incorporated into the design, like mixed finishes for texture and more contemporary fixtures. It's a style that is both old fashioned and modern at the same time. The aim of designers in this "modern rustic" movement is to allow personality and natural warmth to shine through while still maintaining contemporary sophistication

In short, a type of interior design characterized by understated elegance with eastern touches and clean lines that balances function with aesthetics. A balance of tradition with a bold look and feel which deals in honesty. You can use different materials like bamboo, teak wood, etc. and it has to be combined really interestingly. Basically the main aim is to create a home which is transitional in its styling- one where you can break the rules bit by bit both in terms of form or function as per need.
