Becoming an Interior designer is a four-step process. First, you must graduate from high school and take the SAT/ACT to get in to college. Then you should go to an interior design school that has set guidelines for its students (read resumes). After graduating from college, you need to find a job! I also recommend starting your portfolio early with a website or blog of your work. It will be much easier finding a good job if you already show potential employers what they're getting before they even hire you.

It's an excellent idea to have a degree in interior design before getting into this field. Having access to knowledge and resources not available on the Internet will be invaluable in your early years. You can also sign up for an interior design course if you don't want to attend college. In order to land the "dream" job as an architect, you're going to need at least 15-years of experience with different firms and should possess fluency in architectural drawing programs, familiarity with building codes, strong leadership skills, coordination, organization skills and more ! Once you become a successful architect at one firm, start building your reputation by networking with other firms; gradually move up the ladder.
