If you're looking for a course that will teach you basic design principles, like color theory and visual balance, check out Canva's blog. You can take one of their 8 courses on interior design there.
But if your goal is to become an interior designer, the best way to learn is through experience. Everyone has their own preference as to how they learn best so we can't say exactly WHAT will work, Instead, take the time to explore what interests you most in interior design and do some research about how people who are in that career path have learned their skills from books they read, websites where they watched lectures or podcasts.

The process of becoming an interior designer varies depending on what state you live in, but following these steps ensures a quick and easy process. If the person is looking to pursue interior design as a career they should create a portfolio that focuses primarily on their work with homes, rather than with other projects like retail buildings or commercial spaces. Look at what people in the profession are doing now and find out how they got their start - participation in community groups for professionals can connect them more quickly to information about your field. Training courses will not usually allow beginners to sign up without first presenting previous experience within interior design.

There are a number of interior design online courses. Choose the one that is right for you and engage in the course. You will learn different types of design, some basic mathematics for furniture layout, and how to use a drawing tablet and software like SketchUp to create 3D models, which is an industry standard.

Different online classes teach this material in different ways. A fast, free way to figure out if you love the subject is by taking a class on Skillshare. Where a range of instructors offer up what they've done for creative projects as videos and classes, often with step-by-step instructions and lots of examples. Anyone can find something that matches their level-- from grade schoolers to professionals who need refreshers--and learn it over one month (time is flexible). You can literally compare courses just by scrolling down the page. There's no reason not to start right now.

You are smart to research the industry and choose a course accordingly. One of my favorite online courses called House Eye includes 900+ hours of instructional videos. I've watched people who have done it before, and they really give you great insight into what it's like working in this field. You can learn about materials, design processes, styles and how to get hired at many different firms. Check out the website to learn more about this program and see if it's for you I highly recommend.

There are many online comparisons that can be done in order to find the best possible professor for an interior design class. The first step is to look at course reviews, which will tell a student about the quality of courses and teachers within different colleges. A student should also read over the syllabus of each course and make a list of classes they might have difficulty with or may want clarification on because these will form part of feedback for professors when choosing. For every university there should be an FAQ page that includes descriptions about admissions criteria, core curriculum, elective offerings and questions from students, but it's always good to check if other posts featuring external links lead to different content pages with more information as well before settling on one school.
