Answer : A person's overall preference for either architecture or interior design will depend on many factors, such as their personality and meaning in life. However, based on my own personal experience with both fields I would recommend that those who are passionate about the aesthetics of architecture but not so interested in space planning should pursue an Interior Design career. Interior Design is a more aesthetic focus and less technical than Architecture, allowing you to be involved in spaces without building alone. Also keep in mind that while being an architect can lead to higher earning potential long-term, Interior Design leads to an arguably higher earning potential month-to-month given the shorter duration projects usually last - which means greater stability for your finances over time.
